Halie & Chad's Controversial Marriage Advice and Sweet Love Story

Chad and I met on a dating app. He sent me a message (he swears I messaged him first) and we conversed that way for a few days. He asked for my number and our first phone call was over 3 hours long. I knew I had to meet Chad! Over the period of a week or so, exchanging texts and long “get to know you” phone calls, we figured out we both went to the SAME church. The church I’ve been at since 6th grade. It’s a rather large church, he went to the Saturday evening service and I always went to the later Sunday afternoon service. Neither one of us thought the other even looked familiar! Our first date happened the following weekend. We decided to meet at our church, attend the Saturday evening service together, and then have dinner and go bowling! It felt like a modern day fairytale first date (including a kiss)! We have seen each other almost every day since the day we met.

The second date was the following evening where Chad said “I think I’m in love with you!” and I was SHOCKED because I felt the same way but would have never said it that early on! We were engaged 4 months later, to the day, and married a month short of being together one whole year. We have loved every minute of this crazy fast paced ride! We just had our 4 year wedding anniversary in March and time is flying by.

As far as advice.....we try to “out love” each other. If you both are involved in it, and think “what can I do to make their day better or easier” then it’s a win either way. Also....go to bed angry. Yes, you read that right. Just do it. More than likely, sleep, space, time and a cup of coffee may be exactly what you need before you figure out how to resolve the issue at hand.
